Juggling is just throwing up and catching it!

Stephen Smith had been bringing fun and educational programs to Schools and Libraries for over 30 years.

His programs are apropriate for children of all ages and also entertaining to the adults present. He adapts his programs to the audience, so if the audience is primarily young, most of the program will be at their age level, and natually if the audience is primarily youth then his program will shift to that age level.

Feel free to discuss age level concerns or other progam issues with Stephen...you will find him very flexible.

[1] Okie Dokie and the 14 Flags of Oklahoma!

Fourteen Flags of Oklahoma.

These 14 flags used to be seen at the State Capitol Building in a place oddly enough called the Fourteen Flags Plaza. But now the Flags have been taken down and replaced with only the State Flag...but I have 13 of the flags that actually flew at the State Capitol. That is why the flags I bring are a little weathered.

To see the Flags just touch a Okie Picture!

Naturally I am going to save the Fun Stories until we meet in person -- Balloon Art, Audience Participation and Fun!!! See Ya Soon...

[2] Professor "B" Looney- Summer Reading Program

Professor B Looney is a little looney Professor "B" Looney loves to be Looney with the Balloons and loves reading. So every summer he finds out what the Summer Reading Theme is for our state and writes a new program around that theme.

Most Programs include Balloon Art, Puppets, Magic, and of course Reading!

During the program he usually tries to find out what the Children have been reading and then uses the balloons or puppets to illustrate those books.

If we are not promoting reading and imagination then we are limiting the lives of our children!

[3] Ben Franklin - Electricity

Ben Franklin Ben Franklin tells the story of electricity from the Ancient Greek Thalles to modern day electricity. Sounds boring... but nothing Ben Franklin does is boring! The stories he picks are important but chosen also for their humor. Naturally he spends quite a bit of time on his own discoveries and stories. And brings with him a variety of electricity making devices from his age and a "Van de Graff" static electric generator from our century (just for fun!)

Ben Franklin - Autobiography

Ben tells his life story, naturally choosing stories that suit his listeners. The fun stories, the well-known stories, and the not so well-known. The Kite Story you know by heart...and the one you never heard. Naturally there are more stories than can be told...so the program can be focused on one of three area ... personal history, invention, or political history. All mixed with wild stories he wants to tell! The mood is interactive, a conversation with Ben, and when it is over...you feel that you have met a great man.

[4] Gib Morgan - Timeless Tales of the Oil Field

Gib Morgan and Stephen Smith with oil rig This year Stephen has put together (and I do mean put together) a cantankerous old storytellin' Ventriloquist Puppet named Gib Morgan

Gib was a actual oil driller from the early days of the oil industry. After hurting his back, he made his living telling tall tales about drillin' fer Oil! Even though we might not believe everything he tells us, we can still learn about the way oil was drilled at the turn of the century...

It will be hard to know which stories are true and which are tall tales. You will help us decide... and you probably will be surprised.

To help us learn more about the oil industry, Stephen will be using his Balloon Art to build a cable/tool oil rig but he will need some children to help wear it. (wear it?)

[5] The Imagination Show - Drug Free Program

Stephen Smith We have spent a great many years teachinf children to be Drug Free - Just say No to Drugs. But what is it that they can say yes to? Their Imaginations! Children need to know that they can use their imaginations to change the way that they feel! And their Brain grows when they use their Imagination and shrinks when they use Drugs. Children love to pretend, to daydream, these are tools to use against drugs... for you cannot frighten children who does not really believe that they could die.

[6] Tupper the Clown ProgramsTupper is beside himself with little Tupper

TEACHER RECOGNITION

At the end of the year it is always good to give the Students a chance to celebrate their teachers. I enjoy bringing each teacher up and making a special balloon creation for each teacher and giving them some aplause!

READER RECOGNITION

In the same way, you can recognize the readers in a school or library by making balloons to illustrate their reading. Nothing is better for getting a child to read than to ask, " what are you reading?" and reward them with a balloon.
